The Citizens’ Panel

What is a Citizens’ Panel?

It’s a group of residents who help shape services by offering their views and insight into what matters to them, and what their priorities are. The Citizens’ Panel has been set up to enable people who use services, carers and residents of North Kent to have a say about how health and related services can be improved, so that everyone can feel happier, healthier and more in control.

The panel aims to be representative, and open to all. The Citizens’ Panel focuses on the views of local people, and seeks views, insight and involvement in local health and care services. The panel will aim to be:

  1. Representative of local people, with recruitment will be aligned to achieve this objective
  2. Open to those who are involved in services, care for people who are and those who are interested in shaping and being involved in improving health and care service
  3. A place where local people will be involved, feedback and check progress of our plan
  4. Complimentary to existing engagement , allowing members of these panels to take part in projects (where possible and appropriate) without also making the decision to become a member of our citizens’ panel.
