Podiatry

We provide interventions for those considered at greatest risk of developing foot health complications as a result of existing conditions and podiatry needs.

The service concentrates on treating patients who are considered at risk of developing complications including infections, ulceration and amputation, predominantly in the following categories:

  • long term conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis or Diabetes
  • peripheral Neuropathy
  • peripheral vascular disease
  • compromised immune systems
  • biomechanics
  • infection
  • ulceration
  • steroid therapy
  • anticoagulant therapy

Orthotics

The service also provides an orthotic service for the supply of orthotics to podiatry patients.

Exclusion criteria

  • Patients not registered with a GP in the Dartford Gravesham and Swanley CCG or Swale CCG localities
  • Patients under the age of 18 years
  • Patients with a primary diagnosis of mental ill health
  • Patients requiring simple nail care
