Inpatient Rehabilitation Wards

The Inpatient Rehabilitation Wards provide rehabilitation and nursing care for people who are not yet able to return home safely after illness, injury resulting in an acute hospital stay or to prevent an acute hospital attendance where the health needs can be met by the 24-hour healthcare team. The service helps patients regain strength, independence and confidence so they can move on to the next stage of their recovery.

About the team

Patients are cared for by a team consisting of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, rehabilitation assistants and healthcare support workers. The team works together to develop a personalised recovery and rehabilitation plan based on each person's needs and goals.

The service is available at Harty Ward at Sheppey Community Hospital, Kestrel Ward at Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital, Livingstone Ward at Livingstone Community Hospital and Sapphire Ward at Gravesham Community Hospital. They operate 24 hours a day, seven days per week.
